Target Audience Audience + Profile

As part of my research and planning, I had to take into consideration my audience. Fortunately due to the fact I was producing a music video from an existing artist, therefore I can look at their statistics and plan my music video accordingly. This is what I did with Dodie's audience profile, where I went on websites and found her statistics for gender and age, and planned my music video around this as I know as her audience will want to check out my music video for her song.

As shown on the powerpoint slide, and also in my pitch, most of Dodie's audience is female rather than male, therefore in my music video I have tried to appeal to this audience as I have included a romance narrative, as stereotypically females prefer a romance genre/narrative compared to males.
 
Furthermore most of her audience is under 18, so I have took into consideration that around that age most people are trying to figure out their identity, and sometimes even their sexual orientation. So in my music video I am featuring a lesbian couple to try show that this is a normal relationship and people shouldn't be ashamed by it.
 
 
 
 In this presentation/video I explained how I reached an audience profile with the aid of researching other artists within the singer-songwriter genre.

  This is my digipak to accompany the rest of the album that the song "Intertwined" features on, in which my music video is based upon.     A few things that I like from this product is:    The colour scheme - I like the colour scheme that I chose as it is nature orientated, hence quite stereotypically feminine and fits in with my target audience. I also think it is quite mellow and fits in with the genre of the music that dodie produces. Furthermore, it goes with the model who is acting as Dodie's hair. The Images used - I like the photography that I shot as it is very smiley and enthusiastic, which suits most of dodie's upbeat cheery songs. Bullied - Editing Practice

This is a very short film that I made within a group of four, in which we used it as practice for our  coursework. We had a set dialogue, and a list of different shot sizes and cinematography techniques to include, and we had 2 hours to film and edit it. What I have created isn't the best piece of film, but I am quite proud of what I have achieved due to this being my first ever short film. It uses techniques like shot reverse shots, long shorts, eye line matches, match on action, close ups, etc. This is exampled within the conversation between the two friends that are bulling the other character.   I think the use of focusing is particularly good, because it allows the audience to see exactly who the girls are talking about without there being any dialogue.
