This is my evaluation question 2 in relation to both my ancillary tasks and music video.

Evaluation Question 1

Script: Question 1 – In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? As part of my pre-production plan to make a music video for the song ‘Intertwined’ by dodie, I compiled a pitch [insert clip of me presenting pitch] in which I presented to a small sample of people that gave me feedback throughout the presentation. I talked about my ideas and my intentions, and took notes afterwards about the feedback that I received to progress my ideas. In a professional background, most people would compile a bunch of potential shots and concepts for a music video, and they would go to a production company with a presentation alike mine and try convincing them to get rights and funding. There are definitely differences between my pitch and a real media production’s as I had no test shots to try influence the crowd, but instead I had other music videos I was taking influences from. However, I understand that if I was doing my mu...

Magazine Advertisement for Digipak

Image
This is my magazine advertisement for my digipak that I produced for the release of my music video. Things I like about this advertisement: Colour Scheme - I like how there is still a link between the magazine advertisement and the digipak, but also specifically on this product, the models shirt matches the background, and her hair keeps in with the natural element. Contrast between dark background and text -   Due to the background being so dark, the white text really stands out, and you can see all the information clearly. Cartoon effect contrasted with elegant font - I believe the cartoon aspect of the image and the elegant cursive font makes it very playful and links back to the type of genre dodie's music is. Things I'd like to improve on: The Font - I think some of the fonts chosen are too simplistic compared to the cursive, but I still believe there should be a contrast. Font Colour -  I could have maybe changed some of the font colours to highl...

Magazine Advertisement Flat Plan

This is my flat plan for my magazine advertisement that I will produce to promote the digipak I created. I will be making it on photoshop, and use all the research I have made to help me with the production.

Magazine Advertisement Research

In this presentational video, I show my research into magazine advertisements for digipaks/albums, in which I take on when I produce my own.

Digipak

Image
This is my digipak to accompany the rest of the album that the song "Intertwined" features on, in which my music video is based upon.     A few things that I like from this product is:    The colour scheme - I like the colour scheme that I chose as it is nature orientated, hence quite stereotypically feminine and fits in with my target audience. I also think it is quite mellow and fits in with the genre of the music that dodie produces. Furthermore, it goes with the model who is acting as Dodie's hair. The Images used - I like the photography that I shot as it is very smiley and enthusiastic, which suits most of dodie's upbeat cheery songs. I also believe about how naturalistic and slightly candid the images look, it fits with the mellow colour scheme. House style - I like how each cover of the digipak has some form of relation to another, and together they all flow well. I did this by using the pattern from the subject's sh...

Digipak Plan

Image
As part of my research and planning for my digipak ancillary task, I chose a professional template that is a photoshop document, in which I will use it to make sure that my images are positioned correctly and wont be cut off when the digipak is constructed. This is very helpful for me, and I will use the guidelines throughout the construction.
