George Lucas In Love

George Lucas in Love is a hybrid of the genres: Romance and Comedy, and it is a spoof of the movie: Star Wars. Having a hybrid of genres in short films is beneficial as it targets a bigger audience as people will watch a movie based on the genre, hence George Lucas In Love attracting people who like Romance, and also people who like Comedy films.

Because it references Star Wars, it makes a lot of the jokes much funnier as the audience will get the references, as there is a lot of costumes that reference characters from the science fiction movie, so we know who is who. The comedic aspect of the short film is that it shows all the quirks of characters in the real movie, so we can actually see who it is meant to be, in a comedic effect. For example - 'Darth Vader' uses an inhaler in the short film, to portray the deep breathes he has in the real film.

The romance is portrayed through the characters of George Lucas and 'Princess Leia', as it shows how they fall in love. However the ending shows a comedic twist when we find out that they are related, like how Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia were in the real Star Wars movies.

Ultimately this short film shows a good use of genre, and I will take this idea of knowing about genres will be helpful when considering audience in my music video.
